Pear Tree Live presents a very special evening of live music, featuring a sensational double bill with two of the UK's most captivating artists : Reg Meuross & Jess Morgan + Guests. 

BBC Radio 2 and 6 favourite, songwriter and theatremaker Jess Morgan and the highly acclaimed troubadour and master storyteller, Reg Meuross will take the stage in a night of two halves. This promises to be an unforgettable night of intimate, acoustic music, filled with poignant storytelling, beautifully crafted songs and powerful delivery.

Join us at 5pm on Saturday 19 October in our Secret Garden in Witham, Essex for the pre-show bonfire. Choose from a range of heart-warming gourmet street food, hot-toddies, Winter Pimms, toasted marshmallows & roasted chestnuts.. before taking your seat in our fully heated, covered auditorium.

The first act will be on stage at 6pm. The show will ends around 10.30pm.

Parking is free - children & well behaved dogs are very welcome.

REG MEUROSS

Masterfully accompanying himself on his ‘44 Martin six-string guitar, harmonica, tenor guitar, banjo and dulcimer, witnessing a Reg Meuross performance is to experience a journey into the heart, soul and songs of one of England’s most celebrated writers. Reg Meuross’s songwriting is unmatched in contemporary folk, with songs about forgotten heroes, famous figures, folk legends, and tales that resonate with both personal and global significance along with some of the most beautiful love songs ever written. If a story needs telling, Reg has a song for it.

Currently touring with latest album Stolen From God, uncovering the hidden history of England’s involvement in the Transatlantic Slave Trade. He is also previewing Fire & Dust, due for release Spring 2025, commissioned and produced by Pete Townshend, Fire & Dust takes audiences on a journey into the heart and soul of one of America’s greatest folk musicians, Woody Guthrie, through the lens of one of England’s most impactful singer-songwriters, Reg Meuross.

JESS MORGAN

Jess Morgan is a writer, musician and theatremaker based in Norwich. With a background in music spanning some fourteen years, her songs have been backed by BBC Radio 2 and 6.

Her music has seen her perform and tour extensively throughout the UK, Europe and North America in small venues and theatres - and just once, an arena tour, as opening act for A-ha!

Clash magazine described her music as "the kind of thing you put on your headphones when walking alone and wanting to feel part of your own gritty, British love story."

Steve Lamacq said "every now and then you find a little gem like this."

Her new project The Starling Hotline fuses music with long-form narrative and tells a story set on the East Coast of England, about birds, community and Climate Change. It is backed by Arts Council England and co-commissioned by Norwich Arts Centre.

MISS SATIN BEIGE 

JessSatin Beige is an R&B cellist and singer songwriter. Her cello-infused, lyrically soulful R'n'B has drawn comparisons to a "lovechild of Ed Sheeran and Alicia Keys", captivating audiences across the UK.

She has performed for Sir Paul McCartney,  appeared in the critically acclaimed production of An Octoroon at The Abbey Theatre, Dublin (2022), has featured on tracks spun on Rinse FM, BBC 6 Music and 1Xtra, and continues to captivate audiences across the UK appearing at venues such as Liverpool’s Tung Auditorium, and Pizza Express Live, Holborn, with her cello, Kije.

Immerse yourself in the sensuality of her performance, where each note is a caress and each lyric a whispered promise.

The venue is conveniently located off the A12, just outside Witham town. There is plenty of free parking on site.

The event is 5 mins taxi or 25 mins walk from Witham Train Station.

Doors, bars & catering open at 5pm and the first performance will begin around 7.30pm.

The show is due to finish at approximately 10:30pm

The event closes at 11pm. All guests must depart the event once it closes.

Do i need to pre-book?

Yes, tickets are limited so must be pre-booked to guarantee entry and avoid disappointment.

How will my tickets arrive?

As soon as you’ve completed the purchase of your tickets you will be shown your order number (please make a note of this) as well as a link to download your tickets immediately. We will also have a note of your name on the door. Don’t worry - we’ll find your booking!

where is the event?

will the event be cancelled if there is bad weather?

This is an outdoor event and will continue in all-weather conditions unless it presents a safety concern as assessed by our team. THE PERFORMANCE WILL TAKE PLACE IN A HEATED, COVERED AUDITORIUM Unfortunately, if you choose not to attend due to weather, your tickets cannot be refunded. If the organisers of the event choose to cancel the event over a safety concern, customers will be notified by email with their options.

is parking available?

Yes. There is plenty of free parking available at the event location.

are dogs allowed into the event?

Yes - well behaved dogs on leads are welcome at the event. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, and any mess cleared up by their owner.

can children attend the event?

Yes. Pear Tree Live’s Fireside Folk is a family friendly music event. Proof of age may be required to purchase alcohol.

who needs a ticket?

All attendees over 4 years of age require a ticket for entry. Children under 15 years of age qualify for a reduced price ticket.

i can no longer attend - can i get a refund?

Tickets for the event are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable.

will there be strobe or flashing lights?

There are no strobe lights at the event but there will be some stage lighting effects which will be flashing and pulsating at times.

do I need to print my tickets?

You will need to confirm your tickets upon arrival which can be done by either displaying your confirmation email on your mobile or quoting your booking reference. If using your mobile, please ensure you download the confirmation email onto your device before arrival.

will the line up change?
